Even a dead fish can go with the flow.\u201d-<\/em> Jim Hightower.<\/p><p>There are outcomes that we desire, goals we want to accomplish, and success we want to reach that lost faith can prevent us from obtaining.\u00a0 Faith or lack of it can make you or break you.\u00a0 Depending on where you stand, it can make you spiral into an abyss of hopelessness or elevate your belief to soar like an eagle.\u00a0 \u201cNow faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen\u201d (<a href=\"https:\/\/biblia.com\/bible\/nkjv\/Heb%2011.1\">Hebrews 11:1, NKJV<\/a>).\u00a0 In other words, it\u2019s what you are\u00a0<strong>hoping <\/strong>for and the\u00a0<strong>trust<\/strong>\u00a0in what you cannot see that should be driving your faith.\u00a0 Here is the reality, once your hope goes and you begin to only trust what you see, there goes your faith.\u00a0\u00a0Faith is the ability to see beyond what\u2019s in front of you.\u00a0 In other words, where your physical senses stop, your spiritual senses will see beyond.\u00a0<\/p><p>Tommy Kyllonen is his book \u201cFrames\u201d shares, \u201csome people are going through life clueless about their spiritual blindness.\u00a0 Others had the correct frames on at one time, and eventually, the blinders crept back on. In their hearts, they know something isn&#8217;t right, but they won&#8217;t go back to the great physician to get an updated prescription.\u201d<sup>8<\/sup> In other words, we can conform to what we see in front of us instead of trusting God who is willing to give use spiritual insight into His plan for our lives. Your faith will be shown when you are willing to dive in the ocean trusting the Lord has you.\u00a0 For example, as a little boy I struggled with learning how to swim.\u00a0 I remember the anxiety I would feel as we entered the locker room to change into our swim trunks at the Northeast Boys and Girls Club of Philadelphia.\u00a0 My hands would become clammy, and my spirit would be petrified.\u00a0 I knew I could never go too deep or I would risk the ridicule and embarrassment of not being able to swim.\u00a0 Our experience of faith can seem that way.\u00a0 You might say, \u201cGod others believe and have herd from you, but I don\u2019t know if I believe you have something for me\u201d.\u00a0 \u201cI have been waiting for my marriage to be restored, for healing to take place, for my children to serve you, for a special relationship to happen, but when oh God,\u201d sighs your heart.\u00a0\u00a0 Maybe you feel that God\u2019s miracles are not for you because you can\u2019t swim in this crazy world right now?\u00a0 You are battered and bruised and every time you take a step to go into the water, paralysis hits.\u00a0<\/p><p>Here\u2019s where the miracle takes place; on the last day of camp the lifeguard who had been trying to help me lose my fear of swimming approached me.\u00a0 I remember him sharing, \u201cBen you have what it takes; I have been watching you and it\u2019s time you let go of the board\u201d, he shared with confidence and authority. He went on to say, \u201cBetter yet, I will be here for you. Let go and I promise I will keep you safe.\u00a0 Swim to my open arms just a couple of feet away and I will catch you,\u2019\u2019 he expressed with kindness.\u00a0 I went in the water and I kept my eyes on his hands.\u00a0 \u201cThat\u2019s it,\u201d he would say as I felt courage to believe I could swim.\u00a0 \u201cKeep coming, I got you,\u201d echoing through the pool area.\u00a0 What I didn\u2019t realize is that he kept shifting his feet moving backwards and every time I came close, he would move again.\u00a0 \u201cKeep going, you got this,\u201d he pleaded with such enthusiasm.\u00a0 As I took my last breath in panic because of the exhaustion, I felt his arms grab me and pull me up.\u00a0 \u201cYou did it! You did it! Look behind you.\u201d, he screamed in excitement.\u00a0 I couldn\u2019t believe it, I had swum the entire pool and never realized how far I had gone. I could even hear my friends cheering me on as If I had won a gold medal. Perhaps what you feel is the lack of faith as God is shifting His feet with open arms encouraging you to keep swimming, He\u2019s got you!\u00a0 Keep swimming your marriage is being restored; keep swimming your healing is on the other side of the pool. \u00a0Keep swimming and don\u2019t lose faith because once you feel yourself going under God will pull you up and say, \u201cyou did it! Look how far you have come.\u201d \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><p>The story of Peter fishing will provide the key steps to preserve your faith as he displayed the fight for his.\u00a0 Though it may seem just like a simple fishing trip, it will unlock layers of how faith can be won or lost.\u00a0 \u201cAfterward Jesus appeared again to his disciples,\u00a0by the Sea of Galilee.<sup>a]<\/sup>\u00a0It happened this way:\u00a0<sup>2\u00a0<\/sup>Simon Peter, Thomas\u00a0(also known as Didymus<sup>b]<\/sup>), Nathanael\u00a0from Cana in Galilee,\u00a0the sons of Zebedee,\u00a0and two other disciples were together.\u00a0<sup>3\u00a0<\/sup>\u201cI\u2019m going out to fish,\u201d Simon Peter told them, and they said, \u201cWe\u2019ll go with you.\u201d So they went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing\u201d (John 21:1-3).\u00a0 All night Peter drew back and forth casting his net just to receive\u2026.you guessed it, nothing.\u00a0 Imagine how he must have felt during the process of fishing.\u00a0 He could have thought, \u201cwhat a waste of time, I even let my friends down.\u201d\u00a0 Perhaps he was frustrated by hearing the doubting friends saying, \u201clet\u2019s go back to shore; we will never catch anything.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0You may be feeling the same way, the thoughts of discouragement are amplified while your faith diminishes.\u00a0 Maybe you\u2019re saying to yourself, \u201cI will never change, or I will never accomplish what I set out do?\u201d\u00a0 Please don\u2019t lose faith and continue to keep hope alive because the dawn will come.\u00a0<\/p><p>As the dawn approached, Peter found his miracle.\u00a0 The man on the beach which he didn\u2019t recognize was Jesus. \u00a0He challenged him to cast his net one more time.\u00a0 Peter listened to the Master and caught so many fish that his boat almost capsized.\u00a0 What I am trying to convey is, just one more stroke in the pool; you are so close; just one more casting of your net; just one more drop of the lure with your fishing rod and you will watch your miracle appear.\u00a0 Just one more try!\u00a0 I believe it\u2019s not up to us to ask how long we must wait until our prayers are answered.\u00a0 I believe a better statement to make is, \u201cI chose to believe and wait on my miracle today\u201d, and when the dawn rises say, \u201cLord, you will give me the faith to keep swimming just one more day.\u201d\u00a0 Your miracle is on the other side, so please keep swimming to your Heavenly Father\u2019s open arms.\u00a0 Deuteronomy 33:27 reminds us, \u201cThe eternal God is your dwelling place, and underneath are the everlasting arms.\u201d \u00a0\u00a0<\/p><p><strong>Dive Deeper:\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p><ul><li>What miracle are you still waiting for that you have slowly been losing your faith?<\/li><li>What steps do you have to take to dive in again and swim towards your miracle<\/li><li><span style=\"color: #747474; font-family: Lora, serif; font-size: 1rem;\">Who are you willing to be the life guard to call today and challenge them in love to believe just one more for their miracle?<\/span><\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cThe opposite for courage is not cowardice, it is conformity.
