If you are depending on finding the sandcastle you built yesterday, think again. Changes in life is an everyday occurrence but the willingness to build will keep you active and moving forward. Life isn’t stagnant and just like the ocean waves crashing in, change will always come. Success is measured by your willingness to build from setbacks you may face.
In the late 1890’s, Thomas Edison was deeply in debt. He had spent 10 years and millions of dollars on an unsuccessful iron ore mining business. A master of the “learn from failure” philosophy, Edison repurposed the rock crushing technology from the failed mining venture and started a new business. the Edison Portland Cement Company.3 It’s what we do with failure that determines our success.
Every morning strive to build a new castle, use the chaos of the wet sand to dream the greatest creation ever. Never rest on yesterday’s victory because they are just a wave of memories captured by the enchanted and lure of the ocean. Stay present and feel the wet sand as if each tiny grain possessed a new beginning. Each day renew your thoughts by discarding the negative things you may say to yourself, “I can’t do it”, or I will never make it”; with positive affirming phrases, such as, “I can do it”, and “I haven’t completed it yet”. Take hold of today because this is your new beginning.
“This is the day the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it (psalm 118: 24 KJV).”
